What Verified actually means

A real person at a real address: a government ID matched to a live selfie, then the address confirmed by a code sent in the post.

How it is earned

  1. Confirm an email address and a phone number.
  2. Photograph a government ID and take a live selfie. A specialist provider matches them; we keep the result, never the document.
  3. We post a code to the address given. Entering it proves you receive post there.

The first two take about two minutes. The third takes as long as the post does, which is why Verified is four to six days and not instant.

Buyers see the name, not the code. A card says Verified seller; the L2 only appears inside a profile. Trust levels has the detail.

Losing it

A mark can be withdrawn: a confirmed pattern of misrepresentation, a failed re-check, or a business that stops being registered. If that happens we say why, and the listings affected are held rather than quietly downgraded.
