Cookies
A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. Some are needed for the site to work at all. The rest are optional, and we ask before setting them.
1. The four categories
- Strictly necessary — signing in, keeping you signed in, and preventing forged requests. These cannot be switched off, because without them there is no service.
- Functional — remembering a preference such as your chosen theme or city.
- Analytics — counting how a page is used, so we can tell what is broken.
- Advertising — measuring whether a sponsored slot was seen or clicked.
Analytics and advertising are set only if you agree.
2. Every cookie we set
| Name | Category | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| classiry_session | Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in | 30 days |
| classiry_csrf | Strictly necessary | Proves a form came from this site | Session |
| classiry_consent | Strictly necessary | Remembers this choice, so we stop asking | 12 months |
| classiry_theme | Functional | Light or dark, as you set it | 12 months |
| classiry_city | Functional | The city you are browsing | 12 months |
Analytics and advertising cookies are listed here as soon as they are switched on, with the same detail. We will not run one that is not on this page.
3. Consent, and changing your mind
Refusing the optional categories costs you nothing: every part of Classiry works the same either way. You can change your answer whenever you like, and withdrawing consent stops the collection from that point.
4. Controlling them in your browser
Every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies. Blocking the strictly necessary ones will sign you out and stop forms from submitting, which is a browser setting rather than a fault. See also Privacy for what happens to the data itself.
